Glebe Art Show, Glebe, NSW

The Glebe Art Show is organised by the Glebe Art Society Inc., a nonprofit community association. The event is held at the Tramsheds. The opening night had over 400 visitors viewing more than 185 artworks.

The event focus attention on artists living or working in the Glebe area and neighboring suburbs (which was the first suburb where Muzi lived in Sydney), including the City of Sydney and Leichhardt Council municipalities. It also provides a venue for local artists to show and sell their work.

I had the honour of selling my piece entitled "New Roots" on the first night of the show. The piece was an homage to this charming suburb, which was my first reference of home in Australia.

Group Exhibition "Resistencias"

Exhibition with 40 pieces curated by the Brazilian Collage Society (@sociedadebrdecolagem). The purpose of the show is to give visibility to artistic manifestations that make use of collage to represent the multiple forms of resistance: individual and collective struggles against the setback, the threats and the loss of rights from minorities and the oppressed population in Brazil.

I was invited by them to showcase my piece named "Eterea". Through the juxtaposition of the Jesus and St Mary's faces, I decided to create a new colourful character to honour the #PRIDE and LGBTQ community, which I belong, and also to reinforce how the religious idolatry of the top leaders in Brazil has affected so many lives, directly and indirectly.

It was also an opportunity to experiment with the new. Eterea is the only piece showcased with augmented reality on it. Through the app @Artiviveapp, the spectator could watch an animation especially made for the show.

Juxta.fab), Flavia Julius, Lia Marxx, Marisa Pasicznik Ross, and myself. The exhibition was showcased at Be Brave ArtSpace, in Avalon, NSW.

We also were surprised by a video message from The Brazilian Ambassador in Australia, Sérgio Moreira Lima, supporting the exhibition.

The event was raising funds for local organisation Twenty10, who provide housing, counselling and support to youth in Sydney's LGBT community. I was invited among several other artists to perform a live painting, as well as display and sell my artworks.
